TX Orbit Teacher Guide Book 2

Orbit strengthens decoding skills while building fluent reading and deep word knowledge, enabling students to decode and understand the meaning of multisyllabic words, preparing them for the increasing academic demands of upper elementary grades. A breakthrough supplemental literacy program, Orbit bridges foundational skills and advanced word knowledge, bringing together decoding, morphology, and vocabulary instruction.   

The Teacher Guide Book 2 is the second of three teacher’s guides needed for TX Orbit instruction. In Book 2 (Units 10-17), students continue to apply semantic reasoning to new words and content passages. Authentic opportunities are provided for students to use vocabulary expressively by answering inferential questions, identifying and using figurative language, and finishing then creating their own analogies.
